Sberbank CEO: Coronavirus may have strong impact on Russian econ

KAZAN, Feb 6 (PRIME) -- The impact of the coronavirus outbreak in China on the Russian economy and banking sector may be significant if it is not eliminated fast because China is the producer of end products and components for the whole world, German Gref, CEO of Sberbank, told reporters on Thursday.

“If we speak about the current impact, it has not been noticeable so far. But everything depends on how long the situation lasts. Unfortunately, China is the factory of end products or components for the whole world,” he said.

“If this situation continues for a significant period of time, it may have a significant impact on the global economy in general and on our economy in particular,” he said.
